The struggling Canucks hit the road Tuesday for the start of an East Coast road trip. Vancouver is currently sitting in sixth place in the Pacific Division with a 3-6-3 record, losing two of their last three games. They fell in a shootout on Saturday night at home to the Nashville Predators, 4-3. Thatcher Demko made an impressive 30 saves in the loss. The Canucks actually took a three-goal lead into the second period but squandered it due to some sloppy defending. That's unfortunately been a massive problem for this team all year long, allowing four goals per game, which ranks 29th in the league. This road swing won't be easy either, with the Canadiens, Maple Leafs, Bruins, and Sabres ahead on the schedule. Thankfully, the Senators are in a similar boat as them, leaving an array of hope that a win could be in the cards on Tuesday evening.

Ottawa is currently in the midst of a brutal five-game losing skid, which leaves them at the bottom of the Atlantic Division with a 4-7-0 record. They've got a goal difference of zero, scoring 38 goals but also conceding the same number of times. Producing offensively hasn't been a problem by any means. Brady Tkachuk already has six goals and 10 assists, while veteran Claude Giroux is playing at a high level too, finding the back of the net six times and providing another four. Defensively, the Sens just can't stop their opponents. It was a common theme on Saturday, losing 2-1 to the Philadelphia Flyers. Giroux opened the scoring with a goal against his former team, but the Flyers responded with a couple of goals from Zach MacEwan and Kevin Hayes. On a more positive note, Ottawa's last three losses have came by just one goal. They're close.

Vancouver has won 11 of their previous 16 meetings with the Sens. Believe in the history. The moneyline looks like a great choice here in the NHL betting picks.

Detroit Red Wings-1.5 (+155)-160Un 6.5 (-121)

The Canadiens will face a stern test Tuesday against the Red Wings. Montreal is losers of three in a row, which dropped them back to seventh place in the Atlantic Division. On both ends of the ice, this team is just struggling. They're scoring only 2.83 goals per game and allowing 3.33. Outside of Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield both combining for 16 goals and 13 assists, there's been little production. Saturday was a 6-4 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights, with Suzuki doing most of the damage, bagging two goals. The Canadiens were outshot 42-31 and 14-9 in the third period. They've lost their last two on the road as well.

Detroit is looking very impressive early on, sitting in second spot in the Atlantic with a 7-3-2 record. They're very hot right now too, winning three consecutive games over the Capitals, Islanders, and Rangers. Dominik Kubalik and Dylan Larkin both have six goals and nine assists apiece to lead the charge. While the Wings aren't an electric offensive team, their blue-line defense is solid. They're conceding only 2.92 goals per night and just three in their last three outings.

The Red Wings have won two straight against Montreal and are trending in a completely different direction. The best bet here in the NHL betting picks is a no-brainer. Take the Detroit moneyline.
