Betting On Southampton Online

Southampton F.C have solidified their stance as a top flight team since returning to the division in the 2012/13 season, this despite continually selling their best players season after season. In recent years Southampton have sold Rickie Lambert, Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren, Calum Chambers, Luke Shaw, Morgan Schneiderlin, and Nathaniel Clyne to various Premier League rivals, yet they still manage to impose themselves each season. Before the 2016/17 season, Southampton lost the services of strikers Graziano Pelle and Sadio Mane, and midfielder Victor Wanyama. Manager Ronald Koeman also left for pastures anew, joining Everton.

Claude Puel took the managerial helm and led his team to yet another decent season. The Saints finished in the middle of the pack, once again displaying their unflappable resilience.

What Are The Current Southampton Standings

Southampton are usually a middle-of-the-road kind of team. They would like to qualify for a Europa League spot, but will have to play out of their skins to do so.

Southampton Online Betting Tips

Southampton endured yet another injury-filled season in 2016-17. Strikers Shane Long and Charlie Austin both missed long spells due to injury, with Austin’s absence affecting the team most. Austin got off to a cracking start and offered Southampton a strong, opportunisitic target man.

Southampton then had to deal with losing their top two centerbacks, one to injury and the other to the transfer market. Virgil van Dijk went down with a long-term injury while Jose Fonte was sold to West Ham in the winter tranfser period.

But if you don’t know by now, Southampton is equipped to deal with adversity. Their team resilience is well beyond disrepute. They finished the season in the middle of the pack. Southampton were, however, one of the worst home teams in the league. Defensively sound, the Saints had all sorts of trouble scoring at St. Mary’s stadium. Using this as barometer, back the under while veering away from a Saints win at home.

The Saints were much better on the road, though. Again, look to back the under but feel more comfortable about backing them to at least take a share of the spoils, depending on the opposition of course.

Don’t even contemplate, both in the league and the FA Cup, backing Saints as a viable futures option. They’re just not good enough and will always be a selling team.
