Betting On Houston Dynamo Online

Houston Dynamo have a short, unique and successful MLS history. The franchise started in 2005 when the San Jose Earthquakes were relocated to Houston after not being able to secure a soccer-specific stadium. Although a new team, they had an experienced coach so the team was able to hit the ground running in their first season. They ended up in second place in the Western Conference, eventually winning the MLS Cup by beating New England 4-3 on penalties. Houston once again finished second in the Western Conference in the subsequent season. [+]

The team went on to win their second MLS Cup in as many years, beating the Revolution in a 2006 rematch.

In late 2007, Major League Soccer announced that Anschutz Entertainment Group (owners of the Dynamo) should divest their ownership, as the league wanted to avoid ownership monopolies. AEG also owns the LA Galaxy. AEG would remain 50% owners, the other half being split by Gabriel Brener and Golden Boy Promotions, owned by world champion boxer Oscar de la Hoya.

The following few seasons Houston did reasonably well but never really managed to recapture the glory and success they enjoyed in their first few seasons, hardly surprising considering their improbable start.

Houston Dynamo, due to league expansion, were shifted to the Eastern Conference in 2011. Houston finished second in the regular season and won the Eastern Conference Championship, beating Sporting Kansas City in the final and earning the chance at another MLS Cup. They didn’t manage to lift the cup for a third time, losing by a goal to the LA Galaxy.

Houston moved into a new stadium in 2012, their 36-game unbeaten home streak spanning multiple stadiums, competitions and seasons. We also got a repeat of the 2011 MLS cup final, Houston settling for the runners up spot for the second year running after the LA Galaxy managed a comeback, winning 2-1 after going a goal behind in the first half.

Dynamo endured a disappointing 2016 as they finished rock bottom of the Western Conference and 19th overall, only three points better off than lowly Chicago Fire. Fans and management alike will be hoping for a vast improvement in 2017.

Houston Dyanmo Online Betting Tips

After winning the MLS Cup in their first two seasons and finishing as runners-up in 2011 and 2012, Dynamo fans have endured dreadful seasons of late, including in 2014, 2015 and 2016 where their beloved side have finished bottom of the Western Conference each year.

Major changes have been made to the team so they’re expected to improve on their abysmal 5-5-7 home and a 2-9-6 away record. Both need to vastly improve if the Dynamo are to return to the playoffs.
