Andy Murray Kicks some Serious Nadal Butt in Japan

After a gripping, and ultimately failed first set against the stylish Rafa, Andy Murray went on to defeat Nadal 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 in what amounted to an impressive show of force and a beautiful Japan Open win for the embattled English-man.

Riding an impressive end of season catch-up wave of great playing and palpable determination, Andy Murray has done it again and taken the Japan Open title from arch nemesis and world #2, Rafael Nadal. With this win, Murray inches closer to the world #3 position as legendary Roger Federer begins to nip at the heels of freedom 55.

After a gripping, and ultimately failed first set against the stylish Rafa, Murray went on to defeat Nadal 3-6, 6-2, 6-0 in what amounted to an impressive show of force.

While Murray’s stated objective this season is to reach world #3 ranking, he still has a steep uphill battle ahead of him, and we don’t wish him any one-on-one’s against the now bullet-proof Novak Djokovic.
