Eagles Aim for 2-0 Start to NFL Season as They Visit Colts in Indy
Colts trying to avoid second 0-2 start in last 16 seasons
Indianapolis has been so good over the past decade-plus that they are in danger of beginning the season with an 0-2 mark for just the second time in the last 16 seasons. Indianapolis hopes that it can find a way to replace Robert Mathis, who was in the middle of serving a four-game suspension when he tore his Achilles tendon in a private workout last week. The team has confirmed that he will miss the remainder of the season.
Eagles hoping to play from ahead tonight with 2-0 start on the brain
With a rare 2-0 start looming for the Eagles, Philadelphia would love to play with the lead from the beginning of tonight’s game. They cannot afford another poor start like they endured in week one against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Eagles eventually won the game, but it required a major second-half comeback that seemed impossible at halftime. With more than a week to prepare, the Birds offense could spell major trouble for a depleted Colts defense.
We will place our bets over at BetOnline.ag, where the Eagles are underdogs on the road Monday night. We like Indy to win this game, which is why we will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Colts and the -3 (-105) spread as they win their first game of the season and drop the Birds to a 1-1 record.
