Pittsburgh vs. Ottawa: Pens Set to End Sens Stanley Cup Dream
Pittsburgh Penguins: Return trip to Canada not in the cards
Make no mistake about it – Sidney Crosby and Crew learned a lesson during their first round series with the New York Islanders. Even though Pittsburgh has dominated Ottawa in their NHL semifinal playoff series, the Penguins do not want to head back to the Canadian capital for a Game Six versus the pesky Senators. By whacking the Sens, to the tune of 7-3 on Wednesday night, the Pens solved the two problems they’ve been facing in this series – goaltender Craig Anderson and, to a lessor degree, a lack of production on the power play. We see the Steel City Crew jumping out to an early lead in this contest – and never looking back.
Ottawa Senators: Clock is about to hit midnight on Sens Cinderella season
Give Ottawa head coach Paul MacLean, who in our humble opinion should win the 2013 Jack Adams Coach of the Year Award, a ton of credit. No team in the league has faced more adversity than the Senators were shackled with this season. That said, all the coaching in the world isn’t going to help this club overcome the 3-1 series deficit they face heading into Pittsburgh tonight. Facts are facts – the Penguins are loaded with talent and the Senators are not. That’s plainly evident when one considers that Pittsburgh has outscored Ottawa by a 16-9 count through the first four games – and they hold a 164-139 shots on goal advantage.
Penguins vs. Sentators Wagering Odds & Online Sports Betting Game Day Call
As we expected, the bookmakers at the bovada.lv online sports wagering website have posted Pittsburgh as monster home favorites tonight. The Penguins come into this contest at -1.5 (+130) on the puck line and -230 straight up. The Seantors are posted as road pups at +1.5 (-150) ATS and +190 on the money line, while the Over/Under is set at 5.5 pucks. Despite loading up and cashing out with the Penguins during Game Four, our handicapping crew is still steamed about the one that got away during Game Three. Don’t expect a miracle out of the Senators tonight – load up and prosper with the Penguins and the -1.5 (+130) puck line at Bovada!
