Tigers Look to Get Back on Track with Short Series Against Pirates
Tigers in desperate need of some wins right now
Detroit has seen its once somewhat large lead in the AL Central all but disappear heading into play tonight. The Tigers are just 5-5 in their last 10 games, have lost two straight and are trying to get Miguel Cabrera out of a slump. All of this has played right into the hands of the Royals, who are just a half-game out of first in the division standings. Verlander goes for his 11th win tonight.
Pirates play on without McCutchen
Pittsburgh’s top hitter and star outfielder will miss at least a week with an injury to his rib. The Pirates, also 5-5 in their last 10 games played, are trying to find answers all over the field. They are just 2.5 games out of first in the NL Central, but trail two teams in the standings. They send lefty Jeff Locke to the mound tonight with a 3-3 record and a 3.78 ERA. He is coming off an up-and-down start against the Marlins.
On Monday night, the Pirates play host to the Tigers at PNC Park. We will visit TopBet.eu to place our bets on this contest. Detroit is favored to grab the victory with Verlander on the mound, which is why we will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Tigers and the -115 money line as they secure game one against the Pirates on the road.
