Washington vs Minnesota Clash Opens NFL Week 10 Action
Washington Redskins: Still alive in NFC East playoff race
Following a 30-24 OT win over the San Diego Chargers during NFL Week 9 action, Washington remains 1.5 games back of the Dallas Cowboys (5-4) in the fight for first in the NFC East Division. The Cowboys edged the Vikings 27-23 last weekend and now the Redskins (3-5) must do the same. Since a 9-7 mark will likely win the division – the Redskins need to go on a 6-2 run to close out their 2013 NFL regular season schedule.
Minnesota Vikings: Last prime time battle at the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome
Mimicking the Pontiac Silverdome (1975) of NFC North rival Detroit, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome was opened in Minnesota in 1979. Unlike the Lions, who waited 28 years to move into Ford Field, the Vikings have had to wait 34 years before they’ll move into their new stadium when the 2015 NFL season begins. This final prime time contest will be a downer, as will the season, as Minnesota is 1-7 and their playoff hopes are done.
