Betting On Vancouver Canucks Online

Joining the NHL in 1970, the Vancouver Canucks have been within a whisker of hoisting the Stanley Cup on three occasions. The franchise made its first Stanley Cup final in 1982, which ended in defeat at the hands of the New York Islanders. The Canucks lost in the final yet again in 1994 to another team from New York, as the Rangers won an extremely tightly contested final in seven games. They once again felt the despair of losing a seven-game final in 2011 when the Boston Bruins came away with a convincing 4-0 win in Game 7. [+]

Close but no cigar as the old adage goes. The Canucks have been led by the Sedin twins, Henrik and Daniel, for the duration of their careers, which both started in 2000. Wonderful ambassadors for the game, the twins came within a whisker of winning a Stanley Cup. In all honesty, the pair deserves at least one cup triumph but this prospect is becoming less and less likely as the pair reaches the twilight of an otherwise illustrious career.

The Canucks won the Presidents’ Tropy in back-to-back campaigns, an accolade going to the NHL team with the most regular season points. However, the Presidents’ Trophy winner very rarely goes all the way to lift the Stanley Cup.

Vancouver’s ownership team, with the Sedin twins likely to retire in the next couple of years, has a big job ahead of them. How can they return to hockey supremacy after losing such crucial components? It’s definitely not a job for the feint of heart. Henrik and Daniel, as usual, led the team in scoring during the 2015-16 campaign. But that’s not all the twins do. They lead by example of the ice and in the dressing room, too. A gaping hole will be left in the Canucks lineup when the two brothers decide to finally hang up the skates.

Tips For Betting On Vancouver Canucks Online

It wasn’t long ago the Vancouver Canucks were contending for the Stanley Cup.

With the likes of the Sedin twins — Daniel and Henrik — as well as Ryan Kesler, Kevin Bieksa and goaltender Roberto Luongo, the Canucks were a formidable Western Conference powerhouse. The club was one victory away from winning its first Stanley Cup in franchise history, but a Game 7 loss in the final against the Boston Bruins dashed those hopes.

The Canucks have been in somewhat of a tailspin ever since. Spending money on free agents instead of opting to rebuild with prospects.

With the Sedins winding down their careers, there is sure to be a few years of growing pains in the Canucks’ organization. However, some building blocks are already in place. Look no further than Bo Horvat — who led the team Canucks in scoring during the 2016-17 season — his second in the National Hockey League.

It doesn’t help that the Canucks play in one of the toughest divisions in hockey. The Canucks are up against powerhouse Pacific Division teams such as the San Jose Sharks, Los Angeles Kings and Anaheim Ducks on a nightly basis. That can take its toll during a grueling NHL campaign.

So when will the Canucks be contenders once again?

There will be a new era in Vancouver when the Sedins retire and the club must learn to draft the right players in order to speed up the rebuilding process. With key prospects Jake Virtanen, Brendan Gaunce and Cole Cassels already in the system, Canucks GM Jim Benning has a head start in the right direction for the future.

In the meantime, bet with caution. The Canucks are still a respectable team on home ice, but a dreadful record away from Rogers Arena should make you think twice about putting your money on the club while on the road.
