Portugal may not be one of the early favorite to win Euro 2016, but there are the underdogs of choice for thousands of sports bettors around the globe, partly because large numbers of their 23-man squad have been in incredible form for their club teams, and also because they could have a slightly easier route to the final due to how the competition is structured. Greece pipped Portugal to the post at Euro 2004, leaving Portugal with a runner-up finish, their best performance at the European Championships.
They reached the quarter-finals in 2008, then the semi-finals in 2012, can Portugal reach the final in 2016 Portugal topped Group I in qualification, winning seven of their eight games, and losing only to Albania in a 1-0 shock defeat.
The Portuguese have quality throughout their squad, with the majority of the players chosen playing their club football for some of Europe’s elite clubs.
One area of potential weakness, although it didn’t show in qualifying, is the Portuguese defence. Bruno Alves (34), Pepe (33), and Ricardo Carvalho (38) are all on the wrong side of 30-years-old, but when you have the attacking talent that Portugal have, defending is not high up on the agenda.
The Portugal midfield is quite inexperienced, with Joao Moutinho on 81 caps being a leader there. The next highest capped midfielder is William Carvalho with only 17 appearances so far in a Portugal shirt.
However, with Nani, the in-form Eder, and the legend that is Cristiano Ronaldo leading the line up front for Portugal, you cannot deny that they have some serious firepower at their disposal and this alone should see them sale through the group and deep into the knockout stages.

Portugal Online Betting Tips
Portugal start Euro 2016 as sixth favorites to win with odds of +1400, which does seem like good value, especially as that price could plummet if they get out of their group and draw a lesser team in the round of 16.
There is no value in betting on Portugal to qualify as odds are -1200 although -110 to win the group does seem like a good bet.
+650 on Cristiano Ronaldo to finish as top scorer makes the Real Madrid man favorite, and again this looks like a decent bet if Portugal hit the ground running.
