5 Players That Could Be On The Move Before The MLB Trade Deadline

5 Players That Could Be On The Move Before The MLB Trade Deadline
In the market for a missing piece that could turn your franchise from pretender to contender? The MLB Trade Deadline's here to help make that dream a reality. Not every trade's a winner, though. Here's a look at 5 players that could be deal before deadline day.

Cole Hamels - Philadelphia Phillies

If we're being honest, the Phillies ship sank the moment it left the docks. Star pitcher Cole Hamels appears to be a lock to head out of tow. The Cole Hamels Sweepstakes seem to have a lot of interest with only certain clubs are considered eligible to win. Hamels has gotten loads of interest from Houston (a 14/1 World Series hopeful), but the pitcher will reportedly use his no-trade clause to axe that destination. ESPN reports that the Dodgers and Rangers are the front runners to grab Hamels with the Giants, Cubs and Yankees also interested.

David Price - Detroit Tigers

David Price might be on his way out of Michigan and any team craving stellar southpaw to add to their rotation would be foolish not to make an offer. Price is a free agent after this season, so it's definitely a rental deal for whoever wants to snap him up. Rumoured suitors include the Giants (a 14/1 World Series pick), the Dodgers, the Cubs and even the Boston Red Sox. It won't be a freebie deal, though. The Tigers want someone they can plunk into a future starting roation in return.

Yasiel Puig - Los Angeles Dodgers

Could Yasiel Puig be on the move? It might be hard to believe, but there is chatter that the superstar outfielder could be in play as Los Angeles (a 17/2 World Series contender) evaluates their roster options. Considering the reputation the Dodgers have for bringing in big name talent (with big contracts to match), Puig could be extremely valuable in pulling the trigger on a blockbuster. It's unlikely he'll be dealt, but the Dodgers aren't shutting down any talk to includes his name.

Craig Kimbrel - San Diego Padres

Closer Craig Kimbrel has a fair bit of interest and San Diego might be in the mood to swap the reliever. The Padres have underwhelmed so far in 2015 and could be in "seller" mode once the deadline deals really get going. The Nationals are said to be very interested in acquiring Kimbrel, but the Yankees are also serious bidders in getting the Padre. Speaking of San Diego, outfielder Justin Upton also appears up for grabs.

Carlos Gomez - Milwaukee Brewers

The Brewers are listening to offers from clubs interested in trading for All-Star outfielder Carlos Gomez. Fox Sports reports that interest in Gomez isn't just limited to this year's slate of World Series contenders. Gomez's excellent combo of offense and defense makes him a sexy pick for any team wanting a supremely talented player setting up shop in center field. The Indians, Orioles, Twins, Rangers, Mets, Giants and Astros have all taken a look at trading for Gomez.
