Houston Astros One Win Away From First MLB Crown

Los Angeles Dodgers (-166) vs. Houston Astros (+143)

A thrilling World Series matchup between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Astros will come down to a winner-take-all Game 7 on Wednesday night.

A pair of right-handers will take the mound in the highly anticipated showdown, as Lance McCullers will start for the Astros and Yu Darvish for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers, who have the home-field advantage, come in as the -166 favorites to win their first championship since 1988.

This will be the second duel between McCullers and Darvish, as the two hurlers faced off in Game 3 of the World Series. Darvish will be looking for a better performance after going just 1 inning while giving up four runs in the defeat.

McCullers will lead the underdog Astros into what is sure to be another dramatic matchup. Houston heads to California as intriguing +143 underdogs and you can expect the line to move prior to the opening pitch as money will start pouring in on the American League champions.

Here are some other betting lines to consider for Game 7 of the World Series.

Run Line

The World Series has been a see-saw battle, but almost every game has come down to a 1 or 2 run margin. With the exception of a 6-2 Game 4 victory by the Dodgers, the others have been decided by no more than two runs... So what can be expected on Wednesday night?

Much of the same, as Bovada has set the run line at 1 ½. Taking the over will payout -135, but consider pouncing on the under, which comes in at +115. Game 7s historically are closer as there is more at stake, which means this finale could come down to one run.

Run Total

These powerful offenses have made for some high-scoring games in the World Series. Take Game 5, for instance, when the Astros walked away with a 13-12 victory in thrilling fashion. All but two games have one over Bovada’s 7 ½ run projecting for Game 7.

Combined there have been 62 runs scored in this series, but don’t expect that trend to continue on Wednesday night. Take the under, which will pay out -105.

Will There be a Run Scored in the First Inning?

Two of the six games so far have produced runs in the opening inning. Bovada has set a line of -160 that neither team will score in the opening inning of Game 7.

However, don’t be surprised if the Dodgers or Astros score early. Especially considering McCullers and Darvish have both struggled in the final. Consider putting your money down on a run being scored by either side, which is paying out +130.

Extra Innings Required?

As close as this World Series has been up to this point, it wouldn’t be out of the question to expect Game 7 to need extra innings to decide a champion.

That has been the case twice so far, as Games 2 and 5 needed extra innings.

Bovada is offering +650 odds that the game will go beyond nine innings to crown a World Series winner. Consider taking those odds as this is going to be a tight affair that can once again extend well into the night.

Pick: Houston Astros (+143)
