MLB National League Division Series Online Betting Picks

MLB National League Division Series Online Betting Picks
The stage is set in the National League as two divisional series will get underway on Friday night. The defending champion Chicago Cubs are underdogs against the Washington Nationals. In the other series, the top-ranked Los Angeles Dodgers will try to solve the big bats of the Arizona Diamondbacks. We break down both series and give you our prediction in the National League.

Washington Nationals (-135) vs. Chicago Cubs (+115)

The defending World Series champion Chicago Cubs begin their quest to win a second straight crown when they take on the Washington Nationals in the National League Divisional Series.

The Cubs are coming off a remarkable 2017 campaign in which the defending champs topped the Central Division with a 92-70 record. However, it’s the Nationals that enter the NLDS as -135 favorites according to BetOnline.com oddsmakers. Deservedly so after the Nats breezed through the regular season to finish with an impressive 97-65 record and win the NL East crown. On the flip side, it will be enticing for bettors to back the Cubs, who head into the highly anticipated series as +115 underdogs.

Expect this to be a high-scoring series as both clubs finished in the top three in runs produced, with the Cubs racking up 822 and the Nationals collecting 819 during the 2017 regular season.

Nats
At the plate, look to Washington to be led by the 1-2 punch of Daniel Murphy and Ryan Zimmerman, who together combined for more than 200 runs batted in this season. Washington’s big bats will be in tough against Chicago’s star-studded rotation, which had the seventh best ERA in the major leagues in 2017. The Cubs will go with Jake Arrieta, Jon Lester, John Lackey and Kyle Henricks in these playoffs — a foursome that matches with the best rotations in the league.

These teams met seven times during the regular season with the Nats walking away with a 4-3 series victory. Can they repeat that magic in the post-season?

Expect a long, gruelling series, with the Nationals coming out on top and advancing to the NLCS.

Pick: Washington Nationals (-135)

Los Angeles Dodgers (-240) vs. Arizona Diamondbacks (+200)

The Los Angeles Dodgers proved they were the best team in the Big Leagues in 2017. The question now is, can they transfer that success over to the post season?

The Dodgers, who have won the world series since 1988, finished first overall with a record of 104-58. They head into the NLDS as heavy -240 favorites against the D-Backs, who are coming off a huge Wild Card playoff win over the Colorado Rockies. The series price for the Arizona Diamondbacks has been set at +200.

Los Angeles will rely on its power pitching rotation, led by Clayton Kershaw, as well as its strong defense to contain Arizona’s big bats.

Dodgers
As good as the Dodgers have been in 2017, the Diamondbacks have had their number throughout the regular season. In seven meetings between the two clubs, the D-Backs walked away with six victories over that span, including a 13-0 rout on Sept. 4.

Don’t expect that kind of blowout this time around, especially with Kershaw getting the ball in the first game and likely a second time if the series goes the distance. Only this time, it’ll be the Dodgers that will advance to the next round.

Pick: Los Angeles Dodgers (-240)
