Online Sports Betting’s Weekly MLB Power Rankings (September 24 Edition)

Online Sports Betting’s Weekly MLB Power Rankings (September 24 Edition)
Good ol' September. It's a month that provides some incredible baseball drama as AL and NL squads jockey for a playoff spot. As we do every Thursday, we're taking a peek at Major League Baseball's most fearsome squads in our weekly Power Rankings.

5. Kansas City Royals

Odds To Win The World Series: 11/2

The Royals have gone from looking like an absolute terror in the American League to just looking borderline terrible in September. KC has dipped into an 8-13 record in September and they're still aching for quality starts from their rotation. (In case you were wondering, Johnny Cueto has an 0-3 record so for this month.) The Twins are way behind in the rear view of the Royals, which means Kansas City still has time to sort things out before the playoffs start. By the way, KC can clinch their first division title since 1985 if they win and Minnesota loses in tonight's MLB action.

4. Toronto Blue Jays

Odds To Win The World Series: 4/1

Who would have figured the Yanks would still be so pesky in the AL East at this point in the season. The Jays are still trying to distance themselves from New York in the division title chase and winning two out of three against them this week certainly helps. Last night's tilt versus the Yankees featured the bonus magic of Marcus Stroman looking tremendous pitching seven scoreless innings in the shutout win. That's good news for a rotation that still has some questions surrounding it. By the way, Troy Tulowitzki has resumed throwing following his shoulder injury.

3. Chicago Cubs

Odds To Win The World Series: 10/1

Manager Joe Maddon must be going quietly insane right now. His Cubs are arguably the third best team in baseball and are stuck in third place in talent top heavy NL Central. As we've said all year, the wonder rookies (like Kris Bryant and Addison Russell) are doing more than their fair share to keep Chicago's NL squad ferocious. Scoring two Ws off of St. Louis this week and Jake Arrieta winning his 20th game of the season points all the more to the danger facing any club that has to deal with the Cubs in 2015.

2. Pittsburgh Pirates

Odds To Win The World Series: 10/1

It's been on of those "good news/bad news" weeks for the Bucs. Early in the week, the Pirates watched as shortstop Jung Ho Kang suffered a horrendous injury (a broken leg and a torn knee ligament) that will keep him on the shelf for the remainder of the year. The good news? This was also the week where Pittsburgh officially scored a playoff berth. The Cards are still reachable at the top of the NL Central at just four games back and if Pittsburgh's going to make up ground, they'll have to be merciless in this week's pair of sets versus Chicago and St. Louis.

1. St Louis Cardinals

Odds To Win The World Series: 6/1

The Cardinals have looked a touch vulnerable as the playoffs loom, but a recent 8-2 record over their last ten should let you know that St. Louis is no pushover even if some of the initial sparkle's faded. Don't forget, St. Louis boasts the best ERA and quality starts totals in the Majors, so only the mightiest bats should dare face off against the Cards rotation. Needless to say, this week's set against the Pirates is going to make for some incredible September baseball.
