NBA Betting Lines Picks

Today's NBA Betting Lines

Toronto Raptors (-12) vs. Brooklyn Nets (+12)

Ever since waiving Joe Johnson, the Nets are playing sneaky good basketball. Brook Lopez is an offensive dream, and Thaddeus Young's herky-jerky play style is, against all logic, rather efficient. The Raptors are, by Eastern Conference standards, a juggernaut. But a 12-point victory is a lot to ask for against a suddenly competent Nets squad.

The Pick: Nets (+12)

Minnesota Timberwolves (+10.5) vs. San Antonio Spurs (-10.5)

It's been tough to get a read on the Timberwolves when they play at home. They've at times looked ridiculously dangerous, giving squads such as the Cleveland Cavaliers all they can handle. But the Spurs are still the Spurs, and even with head coach Gregg Popovich a lock to rest many of his key players, it's seldom smart to bet against them.

Have a look at the NBA standings while referencing all of the up-to-date game odds.

The Pick: Spurs (-10.5)

Atlanta Hawks (+1) vs. Utah Jazz (-1)

The Jazz are in an exclusive relationship with We Give Up Leads Because Apparently Winning Stinks. Their offense is inconsistent, and the frontcourt pairing of Derrick Favors and Rudy Gobert is simultaneously tantalizing and self-sabotaging. The Hawks pose an especially difficult matchup because of their propensity for running five-out lineups that stretch defenses beyond function. Don't be surprised if it turns out they destroy this one-point spread.

The Pick: Hawks (+1)

Denver Nuggets (-3) vs. New York Knicks (+3)

Carmelo Anthony has never had much success playing against his former team, and the Knicks don't appear conditioned enough to cope with the altitude changes in Denver. The Nuggets know how to use their home-court atmosphere to their advantage, and New York is still in the midst of a cruddy basketball stretcch that has seen its players' effort fluctuate. It's borderline impossible to invest any money in the Big Apple brigade at this point.

The Pick: Nuggets (-3)

Portland Trail Blazers (-5.5) vs. Washington Wizards (+5.5)

The Blazers have been batcrap ridiculous at home, and the Wizards' defense is in no shape to slow down the backcourt duo of Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum. But John Wall is going to give Lillard problems on both ends of the floor, and Markieff Morris is playing well enough to match up defensively with Portland's rangy wings and bigs. Although the Blazers should win this contest, it's going to be close. Rolling with them as 5.5-point favorites, even after everything they've already done, represents an unnecessary risk.

The Pick: Wizards (+5.5)

Los Angeles Lakers (+2.5) vs. Orlando Magic (-2.5)

There's a chance Kobe Bryant won't suit up, which, if we're being honest, helps the Lakers. The Magic, meanwhile, are coming off a gut-it-out loss against the Warriors on Monday night. That's a quick turnaround, and it could impact their ability to defend at a high level. Still, the Lakers don't yet hold enough clout for us to bet on them keeping things unequivocally close with the Magic. Orlando won't necessarily win this one running away, but a comfortable victory does appear to be in its cards.

The Pick: Magic (-2.5)
