Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NBA Atlantic Division Preview

Online Sports Betting’s 2015-16 NBA Atlantic Division Preview
Are the Raptors poised to win another division title? Can the Nets and Celts return to the postseason once again? Is there any sliver of hope for Carmelo Anthony and the New York Knicks? Here's a look at what's in store for the Atlantic Division in 2015-16.

Boston Celtics

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 75/1

Things are looking up in Beantown after a surprise playoff appearance in 2015. The Celtics look like they could be even better this season with the addition of guys like Amir Johnson and David Lee. Brad Stevens also has a lot of young talent at his disposal. Marcus Grant impressed in his rookie season and could be a real threat in the Eastern Conference if he gets his shooting up to snuff. The Celts haven't made the leap into contender status by any stretch, but they're looking like they could return to the postseason once again.

Brooklyn Nets

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 150/1

Just like Boston, Brooklyn are entering 2015-16 after an unexpected postseason appearance. Center Brook Lopez morphed into a solid NBA starter and was rewarded with a new three year deal in the offseason. The Nets will be having their fingers crossed that Lopez can fend off his history of injury woes. If the Nets want to remain competitive, they'll need a slight bump in scoring (Brooklyn finished in the association's bottom third last year) and more impressive defensive play. Can the team achieve that with Deron Williams and Mason Plumlee off the roster? We'll have to wait and see.

New York Knicks

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 150/1

Is there any hope in New York? Well, maybe. The countdown for next summer's potential free agency haul is underway, but the Knicks still have some basketball to play in 2015-16. New York was absolutely horrendous on offense last year with only 91.9 points scored a game. Roster adds like Arron Affalo, Robin Lopez and rookie Kristaps Porzingis will aim to push this franchise in the right direction after achieving a team record for regular season losses in 2014-15. Carmelo Anthony being healthy shouldn't hurt either.

Philadelphia 76ers

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 250/1

There's a reason why the Sixers are pegged as a 250/1 longshot to win the NBA title this year. Philly's tank job wasn't enough to secure last year's top pick, but the club does have Jahill Okafor in the mix. Not on the roster yet again: Joel Embiid. The Kansas alum is out of the lineup yet again thanks to a foot injury. This is a team very much in the depths of a massive rebuild, so expectations are going to be remarkably low in the City of Brotherly Love.

Toronto Raptors

Odds To Win The NBA Championship: 50/1

The Raptors had an ugly end to a relatively promising season. Canada's sole NBA franchise racked up the division title with nine games to spare, but were unceremoniously bounced 4-0 in the first round by the Washington Wizards. This year's Raps will be without Amir Johnson, but the team did snatch up DeMarre Carroll and Cory Joseph in free agency. Toronto has the potential for big things if Kyle Lowry stays healthy and stays on form in 2015-16. In the first half of last year he was dynamite, but the Raps sputtered when he was hurt or underperforming.
