Over/under 211.5 points: Atlanta Hawks at Washington Wizards (-5.5)

Atlanta got two strong performances from unlikely players — Jose Calderon and Dwight Howard — to catapult them to a 111-101 victory in Game 4 to even up the series. Calderon, a late-season waiver pickup, played crucial minutes with the Hawks in foul trouble and scored 10 points and dished five assists. Howard finished with 16 points and 15 rebounds.

That's become the theme of this NBA postseason: grizzled veterans making big-time plays in big moments. It started with Joe Johnson, then Nene Hilario and finally these two. That's a fun narrative, but don't expect it to play out as the series heads back to Washington.

The Wizards need to find production outside of Bradley Beal and John Wall. The two played lights out again in Game 4, as Beal scored 32 and Wall chipped in 22 points and 10 assists. The rest of the team shot 18-of-43 combined from the field.

It's obvious Washington want to win this series on the perimeter with their one-two punch. But Atlanta aren't having it. The Hawks are absolutely mauling the Wizards inside. Atlanta's starting frontcourt outscored Washington's 46-24. Paul Millsap and Markieff Morris have spent the whole series jawing at each other, but Morris and company are being pushed around left and right.

In Game 5, it's going to be a matter of who shines more: the Wizards high-octane backcourt or the Hawks bullying frontcourt?

We're inclined to side with the former. Aside from a bad game from Beal in Game 3, Washington's backcourt has played consistently great throughout the series. Atlanta's frontcourt has been more shaky. Howard was invisible until Game 4 and Taurean Prince is pretty pedestrian.

While we believe Washington will go up 3-2, the Hawks aren't going down easy in this one.

Pick: Atlanta (+5.5)

Total: Over

Over/under 202 points: Chicago Bulls at Boston Celtics (-8)

This has been one of the most unpredictable playoff series in recent memory. The only given seems to be the home team is losing. But Game 5 might be the exception.

All momentum is with Boston. They've regained their confidence and composure after falling behind 2-0 in the series. Isaiah Thomas led the way in Game 4 with a 33-point outburst to lift the Celtics 104-95.

While everyone wants to pin Boston's comeback on Rajon Rondo injury two games ago, head coach Brad Stevens has made adjustments of his own. He inserted the versatile Gerald Green into the starting lineup the past two games, and the offense has surged since. Green knocked down four three-pointers in Game 4 and the entire attack seems more fluid.

Moreover, Chicago's dominance on the glass is dwindling. Robin Lopez was practically grabbing rebounds at will when the Bulls were winning, but that's far from the case now. In Game 4, Chicago barely outrebounded Boston 44-41.

The turnaround has left the Bulls almost hopeless. Jimmy Butler played as well as you could hope for in Game 4, scoring 33 points and getting to the free-throw line a whopping 22 times. But after him, there's a steep dropoff in production.

There's an outside chance Rondo returns again in this series, but he'll miss Game 5 for sure with a thumb injury to his shooting hand. However, that's how desperate the Bulls are nowadays. Their fortunes are resting on whether or not Rondo can gets his cast off in time and play through the pain.

The home team will finally grab a win in this series, as the Celtics pound a struggling Chicago team again in Game 5.

Pick: Boston (-8)

Total: Under
