College Basketball Champions Classic Betting Lines Picks

Odds Courtesy of

Duke Blue Devils (-115) vs. Michigan State Spartans (-105)

Two of the winningest coaches in NCAA men’s basketball history will square off when Mike Krzyzewski and the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils face Tom Izzo and the second-seeded Michigan State Spartans at the United Centre in Chicago, Ill. Duke heads into the contest as the slight favorites at -115 and 1 ½ points.

However, they’ll be tested by the No. 2 Spartans, who won their first two games of the season and will be looking to keep that streak intact. In fact, oddsmakers at BetOnline have the Spartans as the early +450 frontrunners to win the national championship this season. The five-time NCAA Tournament champion Blue Devils are +500 favorites to win the March Madness title in 2018.

There are high expectations for the Blue Devils, who will depend on freshman forward Marvin Bagley to produce much of the team’s offense this season. Bagley is averaging 24.5 points and 10 rebounds through two games heading into Duke’s highly anticipated matchup against the Spartans. The last time these two teams met in the Champions Classic was 2014, when the Blue Devils walked away with a hard-earned 81-71 victory.

This time, it will be a different outcome as the new-look Spartans will be too much for the Blue Devils to handle.

Pick: Michigan State Spartans (-105 and +1 ½)

Kansas Jayhawks (-117) vs. Kentucky Wildcats (-103)

In the second contest of Tuesday’s doubleheader, the No. 4-ranked Jayhawks take on the seventh-seeded Wildcats in what is sure to be an exciting match between the two powerhouse basketball programs. Kansas heads into the contest as the -117 moneyline and -3 ½ point spread favorites.

Kansas won its opening game of the season after Devonte Graham netted 10 points and added 12 assists to lead the Jayhawks to a victory over Tennessee State. The Jayhawks are also 2-1 against the spread in their last three games when playing the Wildcats.

The last time these two clubs locked horns in this tournament was in 2014 when the Wildcats routed the Jayhawks 72-40. Kentucky will look to improve to 3-0 after winning the opening two games of their season, including a close victory against Utah Valley.

Kentucky has the best record since the Champions Classic first started in 2011, as the Wildcats are 4-2 in the tournament.

Expect a different outcome this time around, with the Jayhawks coming out on top in a hard-fought battle.

Pick: Kansas Jayhawks (-117 and -3 ½)
