5 College Football Games Worth Watching In Week 5

5 College Football Games Worth Watching In Week 5
College football is in full swing and that means tons of big ticket FBS contests jockeying for your attention. We've cherrypicked five games that are definitely worth tuning in for this week, including Notre Dame going head-to-head with Clemson.

The Big Game

#6 Notre Dame (4-0) at #12 Clemson (3-0) - Saturday, October 3 (Memorial Stadium, Clemson, SC)

Notre Dame continues to impress even with injury hell facing the school's football club at every single turn. A Saturday night showdown versus Deshaun Watson and Clemson will determine whether or not the Fighting Irish are legit national title contenders. Clemson have their work cut out for themselves (especially if they have visions of ND hanging a 62-27 crushing of UMass last week), but they're galaxies away from pushover status. The ACC school has been stingy with only 12.3 points allowed per game and they're the unquestioned class of their conference. This game's been pegged as a pick 'em contest by oddsmakers.

Four More To Watch

#23 West Virginia (3-0) at #15 Oklahoma (3-0) - Saturday, October 3 (Memorial Stadium, Norman, OK)

Norman plays host to a Big 12 clash that'll leave one school with their undefeated aspirations in tatters. Baker Mayfield has been doing fantastic work as Oklahoma's QB with 1062 passing yards to his name in just three games. He'll look to add to that total against a West Virginia Squad that's given up the fewest points-per-game in college football this year. If the Mountaineers win in Oklahoma it would be a big boost for a team that's been somewhat overlooked in 2015.

#13 Alabama (3-1) at #8 Georgia (4-0) - Saturday, October 3 (Sanford Stadium, Athens, GA)

Alabama's loss to Ole Miss earlier this year has taken a layer of sparkle off of this heavily anticipated matchup, but it's still an absolutely crucial SEC matchup. A W or L can rocket either one of these schools up or down the college football ladder with breakneck speed. This Alabama/Georgia game looks like it could come down to whether or not the Crimson Tide's strong defensive line can stop superstar Bulldogs rusher Nick Chubb. It's hard to picture Chubb being contained, but Alabama is coming off a game where they held Louisiana-Monroe (we know) to only 92 yards of offense. At the moment, Georgia's favoured to win by two.

#3 Ole Miss (4-0) at #25 Florida (4-0) - Saturday, October 3 (Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, Gainesville, FL)

Ole Miss are the highest ranked team in the crowded SEC at the moment, but a not too slick win over Vanderbilt has demonstrated some Rebel vulnerability. Florida, a fellow undefeated SEC squad, will be happy to slap a loss onto the record of Ole Miss and play the role of not so gracious hosts. If the Gators are going to win, they'll need a bit more help from their offense to help reduce the dependence on an incredible defensive unit. Ole Miss head into the Sunshine State as a 7.5 point road favourite.

#21 Mississippi State (3-1) at #14 Texas A&M (4-0) - Saturday, October 3 (Kyle Field, College Station, TX)

The SEC's two sneaky good under the radar 2015 schools are set to do battle on Satuday night. The Aggies are favoured by 7.5 but are in danger of having their defense eaten alive by Bulldogs QB Dak Prescott. If Texas A&M can score this valuable win and improve to 5-0, they'll springboard upward in a conference that's bound to have a few schools on a downward ranking slide after Week 5.
