5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 12

5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 12
The National Football League offers up yet another collection of gridiron action for your amusement and some contests are clearly better than others. (Sorry, Browns/Ravens.) We've cherrypicked the five best games of Week 12 for your convenience and scheduling sanity.

The Big Game

New England (10-0) at Denver (8-2) - Sunday, November 29th 8:30 PM ET

Can Brock Osweiler stop the juggernaut that is the undefeated New England Patriots? Denver continues their Peytonless stretch of 2015 and if it's like last week it'll feature a lot less turnovers than with #18 taking the snap. New England, favoured by a field goal heading into Sunday night has been played stellar football on both sides of the ball this season. The Pats are #2 in points-per-game for the NFL and #1 in points against. Tom Brady is in for a test against a Broncos D that is just a fraction of percent behind in the points against metric. Expect some intriguing football to cap off Sunday's Week 12 slate.

Four More To Watch

Minnesota Vikings (7-3) at Atlanta Falcons (6-4) - Sunday, November 29th 1:00 PM ET

A disappointing outing versus NFC North rivals Green Bay had the Vikes tumbling back down to earth and now the question arises if the Falcons can also shut down AP and Minnesota's rushing offense. Adrian Peterson has been kept to a smidge over 50 yards a game in Vikings losses and well over double that total in Vikings wins. The Falcons are capable of locking down rushers and have held teams to 3.6 rushing yards per attempt in 2015. Minnesota is going up against an ATL squad that has stumbled to a 1-4 record over their last five games, so the pressure's on Atlanta to bounce back. Oddsmakers favour the Falcons by two.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (5-5) at Indianapolis Colts (5-5) - Sunday, November 29th 1:00 PM ET

Did you catch Jameis Winston last week? The rookie QB had a monster five TD game and the Muscle Hamster Doug Martin racked up 200+ yards in their complete decimation of Philly. That should put a bit of fear into Indianapolis as they continue to hold a tenuous grip on the top of the AFC South standings. The Colts have been playing better with Matt Hasselbeck at pivot as opposed to franchise star Andrew Luck. Indy's 3-0 with the 40-year-old in the key position. Indianapolis are a field goal favourite in this tilt.

New York Giants (5-5) at Washington Redskins (4-6) - Sunday, November 29th 1:00 PM ET

The lack of breakout squad in the NFC East provides this divisional clash with more drama than the records above suggest. A Washington win can pull the team into a tie with the G-Men (and possibly Philly) at the top of the standings. Operating in Washington's favour: A 4-1 record at home. Operating against Washington's favour: The world saw them get completely totaled against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. One thing that's gone somewhat overlooked is New York's ability to generate offense. Eli, Odell & Co. have been putting up an impressive 27.3 points-per-game. The line has the Giants as a two-and-a-half point road favourite.

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-4) at Seattle Seahawks (5-5) - Sunday, November 29th 4:25 PM ET

Shaky starts for both clubs has taken a bit of lustre off this Super Bowl XL rematch, although that shouldn't scare you off from checking it out. Pittsburgh and Seattle are both in the playoff hunt and the Seahawks (a four point home favourite) seem to be doing alright with Thomas Rawls subbing in for injured rusher Marshawn Lynch. Meanwhile, Pittsburgh's hoping their recent bye week has helped give their health and well-being a resting boost. By the way, this week's game marks the first time Ben Roethlisberger has ever played in Seattle's CenturyLink Field.
