5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 15

5 NFL Games Worth Watching In Week 15
The National Football League offers up yet another collection of gridiron action for your amusement and some contests are clearly better than others. (Sorry, Patriots/Titans.) We've cherrypicked the five best games of Week 15 for your convenience and scheduling sanity.

The Big Game

Carolina Panthers (13-0) at New York Giants (6-7) - Sunday, December 20th 1:00 PM ET

Are the G-Men capable of slamming Carolina's undefeated dreams onto the rocks? Well, they at least have an offense with Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. that can keep up with the red hot Panthers who are pegged as an early six point road favourite. Cam Newton has been an MVP level beast this year and should get endless shine for powering the highest scoring offense in the NFL. Carolina is coming off a 38-0 obliteration of Atlanta and that should make the Giants a little nervous. After all, New York is trying to weasel their way to the top of the NFC East and a date with Carolina will either shatter morale or inspire marvelous things.

Four More Worth Watching

Buffalo Bills (6-7) at Washington (6-7) - Sunday, December 20th 1:00 PM ET

Speaking of the NFC East, Washington's hopes of landing their second division title since the turn of the millennium could get a big boost with a win at home. Washington, a slight one point underdog on some lines, will take on a cranky Buffalo Bills team that was incredibly unhappy with the officiating in their Week 14 loss to Philly. The Bills have looked like a serious threat to make the playoffs in some outings and in others their poor offensive line play and lack of discipline trips everything up. Washington will look to exploit that at home, although their run defense is far from stellar. Washington needs the win for division title reasons and Buffalo needs the win to stay alive in the Wild Card chase.

Houston Texans (6-7) at Indianapolis Colts (6-7) - Sunday, December 20th 1:00 PM ET

If you think the NFC East is a mess, you should check out the lunacy going down in the AFC South. The Texans and Colts are both the division leaders at 6-7 with Jacksonville not far off. This crucial division showdown will pit Houston backup QB T.J. Yates against... um, well franchise QB Andrew Luck was originally penciled in for this spot earlier on, but he might not be well enough to go. Matt Hasselbeck's injury sustaining Week 14 also clouds the QB crystal ball. It's not going to make for spectacular viewing, but this game has the drama of being incredibly important for both sides. The line for this big game has not yet been determined.

Green Bay Packers (9-4) at Oakland Raiders (6-7) - Sunday, December 20th 4:05 PM ET

Minnesota's recent woes have helped Green Bay bounce back as the sole possessor of the NFC North's peak position. They'll look to improve to 10-4 in Oakland against the perplexing Raiders. Coach Jack Del Rio guided Oakland to an impressive 15-12 W in Denver last week and could leave Packers superstar Aaron Rodgers battered and bruised if NFL sack leader Khali Mack can hunt him down. After an unPackeresque stretch of four losses in five games, Green Bay seems to be getting back to title contender form. Oddsmakers favour Green Bay by a field goal on the road.

Denver Broncos (10-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers (8-5) - Sunday, December 20th 4:25 PM ET

The Steelers have been looking incredibly dangerous of late and they head into Week 15 as a six point favourite to dispatch the visiting AFC West champion Broncos. Pittsburgh are just a smidge out of the playoff standings at the moment and knocking off Denver to win their fifth game in six outings improves those chances. DeAngelo Williams has been picking up the slack out of the Steelers backfield in Le'Veon Bell's absence and doing a fantastic job. Williams could face some serious challenges against a Denver D that has allowed the fewest yards-per-carry this season.
