NFL Week 8 Picks ATS

Odds courtesy of

Kansas City Chiefs (-330) vs. Denver Broncos (+265)

The Kansas City Chiefs were pegged as clear-cut Super Bowl favorites after boasting an unbeaten record through five weeks of the NFL season. However, after back-to-back defeats, the Chiefs have come down back to earth as they prepare to take on the Denver Broncos in a battle between two AFC West Division foes.

Despite the club’s recent struggles, the Chiefs welcome the Broncos to Arrowhead Stadium as 7 ½ point favorites. The matchup pits one of the league’s top offenses in the Chiefs taking on the NFL’s top-ranked defense.

The Broncos have held opponents to 1,551 total yards this season, which ranks No. 1 in the league heading into their highly anticipated matchup against the Chiefs.

Can the Chiefs break out of their slump? Perhaps. Will they cover the -7.5 spread? Likely not against the NFL’s top defense.

The Broncos are 6-2 in its last eight games when playing on the road in Kansas City. Expect that trend to continue on Monday Night Football.

Pick: Denver Broncos (+7.5)

Dallas Cowboys (-135) vs. Washington Redskins (+115)

The battle for second in the NFC East will take center stage on Sunday afternoon when the Washington Redskins host the Dallas Cowboys at FedExField.

It’ll be the second straight week the Redskins take on a division rival as the club fell to the red-hot Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.

The Cowboys head to the nation’s capital as two-point favorites and it is important to note America’s Team has performed better on the road this season.

The Redskins and Cowboys are deadlocked at 3-3 and the winner will take over sole possession of second in the division with a victory.

Dallas holds the advantage in the head-to-head matchup over the last three games as the Cowboys have won two of those meetings.

The Redskins are 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games when playing the Cowboys. Expect the Redskins to rebound with a win on Sunday.

Pick: Washington Redskins (+2)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-125) vs. Carolina Panthers (+105)

In another matchup featuring division rivals, the reeling Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who were expected to be playoff contenders this season, will host the Carolina Panthers on Sunday at Raymond James Stadium.

The Bucs head into the home matchup as two-point favorites, but there hasn’t been much to cheer about in the Sunshine State.

The club has dropped three straight games heading into their contest against the Panthers, who haven’t exactly been taking the world by storm. Carolina has also lost two straight, but it’s important to note the Panthers are 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games. They’re also 6-2 ATS in its their last eight games when taking on the Buccaneers.

The Panthers have battled injuries all season but they should be able to get past the Bucs in another close matchup.

Pick: Carolina Panthers (+2)

Pittsburgh Steelers (-145) vs. Detroit Lions (+125)

There were some question marks surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers after the club opened the NFL season slower than expected.

Heading into Week 8, the Steelers are where everyone thought they would be — first in the AFC North and searching for a third straight victory.

That will come on Sunday Night Football against the struggling Detroit Lions, who have dropped back-to-back games. The Steelers head to Ford Field as three-point favorites.

The Steelers have owned the head-to-head matchup over the last six games, winning five of those contest. Pittsburgh is also 3-0 in the last three clashes against the Lions.

However, the Steelers are 2-5 against the spread in their last seven games when facing Detroit — something to keep in mind when betting on this matchup on Sunday night. The Lions (3-3) will cover the spread and move back into playoff contention with a victory.

Pick: Detroit Lions (+3)
