Future Super Bowl predictions

Super Bowl future odds

Here are four Super Bowl favorites to consider putting your money on, with odds courtesy of BetOnline.

New England Patriots (+175)

Patriots

Even without superstar tight end Rob Gronkowski — who was lost for the remainder of the season with a back injury — the Patriots enter the playoffs as +175 favorites to win it all. As big of a loss that was for the Pats, it didn’t effect Brady, who went on to throw 25 touchdown passes while only being picked off twice — setting a new NFL TD to interception ratio record.

Super Bowl Lines

The Patriots finished fourth in passing offense, averaging 269.2 yards per game. No other team in the playoffs has an easier path to the Super Bowl than the Patriots, who will enjoy a first-round bye before taking on either the Oakland Raiders, Houston Texans or Miami Dolphins — all playing with backup quarterbacks. From there, the Pats would potentially have to face the No. 2 Kansas City Chiefs or No. 3 Pittsburgh Steelers — both beatable in an AFC Championship.

Dallas Cowboys (+400)

Cowboys

Dak Prescott proved he could be a productive quarterback in the regular season. The question now is, can the rookie pivot carry over that success to the post-season? The road will be a difficult one in an NFC Conference jam-packed with talent. The Cowboys earned a first-round bye after topping the NFC East with an impressive 13-3 record.

They’ll potentially face the winner of the wild-card clash between the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants, two teams that have given the Cowboys headaches in the past. There’s no question if Dallas advances deep into the post-season, the club will need rushing champion Ezekiel Elliott to help the Cowboys win games on the ground. The rookie running back led the NFL with 1,631 yards, however both the Giants and Packers defenses finished third and eighth, respectively, against the run. The Cowboys will have their work cut out for them.

Green Bay Packers (+700)

Packers

Super Bowl favorites at the beginning of the NFL season, the Packers fell off the map after going 4-6 in their first 10 games. That’s when quarterback Aaron Rodgers put the team on his shoulders and made them legitimate Super Bowl contenders again. The NFC North Division champions, who open the post-season against the New York Giants, are +700 favorites to win Super Bowl 51.

Rodgers capped off a MVP-worthy season by leading the league with 40 touchdown passes — two better than second place Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons. Rodgers also finished fourth overall with 4,428 yards passing. The Packers’ offensive line has given Rodgers extra time in the pocket and when the QB has faced pressure, his ability to scramble and pick up yards has put the team in great scoring position.

The Packers’ biggest test would be a potential NFC Divisional playoff against the Dallas Cowboys — a team Green Bay lost to 20-16 in Week 5.

Pittsburgh Steelers (+800)

Steelers

The Steelers boast one of the most feared offenses in the NFL, making them legitimate Super Bowl contenders heading into the 2017 playoffs. With Ben Roethlisberger leading the charge, the Steelers finished seventh in total offense, averaging 372.6 yards per game.

There were some bumps in the road for the Steelers, who dropped four consecutive games mid-season before Roethlisberger helped the club win the next seven to capture the AFC North Division title. With both star wide receiver Antonio Brown and running back Le’Veon Bell rested and healthy, watch for this Steelers team to make a deep run in the post-season.

The only question surrounding the Steelers is their shaky defense, which has struggled against the run this season.

Super Bowl Champion: New England Patriots (+175)

Runner-Up: Green Bay Packers (+700)
