NHL Odds, Picks & Predictions: April 26th-29th

The NHL is fast approaching the finale of the season with less than a month to go of the Regular Season. The teams will begin to prepare for the NHL playoffs and the eventual Stanley Cup. Tampa Bay is the reigning Stanley Cup holder and among the favorites to get their hands on the cup again in 2021.

There are many of the usual favorites among the teams to make it to the postseason this year, but we also have some unexpected teams - ones that weren’t very highly ranked when the NHL futures were released at the start of the season.

As we look at this week's fixtures, we have selected some of the most important games. Based on the best odds from NHL betting sites, we will provide some picks for readers. As always, we take the odds from the very best sportsbook providers available to Canadian players.

Nashville Predators (+170) vs Florida Panthers (+125)

The Predators are one of the main teams battling it out for the final spots in the playoffs, with the Stars and Blackhawks looking like the main competitors in the race. They stand ahead of the other two as it stands, but they need to keep adding to the win column.

The Panthers sit on 31 wins for the season and look to be one of the teams that will definitely make it to the postseason, so there is certainly less clout in the matchup for Florida.

Nonetheless, both teams enter this one having won their last, but it’s clear the Panthers have been the superior team over the course of the season. We expect to see a tough battle from both teams, but the Predators come out on top.

Pittsburgh Penguins (+149) vs Boston Bruins (+142)

The Penguins are not atop of the Division in the East, pushing the Washington Capitals off their perch. This is a very interesting matchup as the Penguins want to win the division and the Bruins need that 4th placed playoff spot.

The Bruins were looking very strong going into the weekend and were on a 6-game win streak, but losses to the Sabres and to the Penguins in the first of the head-to-head series have them on the back foot again.

Boston is still in the best position to make it to the Playoffs from the East Division, having only played 47 games compared to the 48 and 49 of the teams below them. Nonetheless, the Penguins are clinical right now and will punish them in this game.

Vegas Golden Knights (+144) vs Colorado Avalanche (+154)

The Golden Knights hold the longest win streak in the NHL at the moment, going 9-1 in their last ten. The Avalanche are right behind them in the West Division and still sit atop of the Stanley Cup winners tables across all sportsbooks.

The Avalanche lost out to the Blues 5-2 in their last fixture, putting them at 8-2 in their last ten. They still look as strong as ever and will likely rise to the occasion against this Golden Knights team.

The Knights have scored 22 goals in their last 5 games, conceding just 7. It’s their elite defensive unit that makes them real title contenders and the type of team to cause the Avalanche real problems. Expect them to make it 10 from 10.
