Unibet was founded in 1997 and has since grown to have offices around the world in places like Malta, London, and New York. They have been doing this for a long time, having launched their first website in 1999 and mobile betting in 2004. However, this does not necessarily translate to them being the best in the field.
Unibet has a petty shady history when it comes to protecting its customers. For example, Danish authorities sanctioned Unibet for not having “sufficient written business procedures for ongoing monitoring of existing customer relations.” They were not following proper Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures.
Similarly, Norway has sanctioned them for illegal activities in their country. Even as they continue to battle it out in the Norwegian Supreme Court, Unibet refuses to cease activities. The Canadian government fined them CAD$48k in August 2022 for illegal activity related to advertisements and inducement.

States Where Unibet Offers Sports Betting
While Unibet is available in over 100 countries, they are currently only licensed in six states. This is another reason why we do not often recommend Unibet: its legal situation is not the best.

The six states where Unibet operates are New Jersey, Virginia, Arizona, Iowa, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Indiana. If you live in any of the other 44 states, you cannot even legally visit and sign up with Unibet, let alone process deposits and withdrawals.

Unibet Mobile Betting
The Unibet mobile interface is definitely an improvement compared to their desktop version. In fact, if you do not download the app, the desktop version is better from a mobile device than it is from a desktop computer.
You can use the Unibet app on both Apple and Android devices. The Android uses about 5 megabytes of space, so make sure you have room for this download if you are interested in it. While the Apple version takes even more space: between 22 and 18MB, depending on the state.
