Hull City (+250) vs. Leicester City (+120)

Newly promoted Hull City take on the reigning champions Leicester City in the opening fixture of the new campaign.

Newly promoted teams tend to be competitive at the start of a new season as they are full of confidence, but not Hull. I wouldn't bet on Hull to win even if you gave me free money to do so.

The club is in disarray with infighting, supporters wanting the board to leave, Steve Bruce resigning as manager, and Mo Diame dropping down a division just so he didn’t have to play for the team.

Throw into the mix the fact Hull has several key players injured, and this could be a hammering for the Tigers, in fact you may see them get slaughtered and skinned over 90-minutes.

I don’t think Leicester will do well this season, but even with that in the back of my mind, I expect them to make light work of Hull and return home with all three points. Watch for Jamie Vardy in the goalscoring market because he’s going to love playing against a makeshift defense, Jamie Vardy may indeed be having a party.

Pick: Leicester City at +120

Bournemouth (+395) vs. Manchester United (-135)

Bournemouth picked up plenty of neutral fans in the first season in the top flight, but people liking you doesn’t win you games; if only it did.

While Bournemouth has strengthened its squad, those coming in, with the exception of former Leeds United youngster Lewis Cook, are not stellar signings and have a baptism of fire on their hands in this game against Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho’s first competitive game as manager of Manchester United should see him bank his first win. “The Special One” has spent tens of millions on new recruits, and both Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and they should have an immediate impact.

Ibrahimovic may be a bit of an asshole at time, but there’s no denying that he’s a phenomenal talent and should tear the Bournemouth defense to shreds over 90-minutes.

Man United lost this fixture 1-2 last season but that was under the guidance of Louis Van Gaal whose style of football was about as interesting as watching an iron bar rust. 

Bournemouth could find themselves on the back of a hiding, they had the second-worst defense last season, and now United have even more attacking options and a manager who dare use them.

Pick: Manchester United at -135

Everton (+190) vs. Tottenham Hotspur (+140)

Everton were poor in defense last season because former manager Roberto Martinez decided not to both defending properly, instead going down the route of “if they score two, we’ll score three.”

New manager Ronald Koeman will shore up that leaky back four, but with John Stones being the subject of transfer speculation, which could turn his head, this may not be the game that we see Koeman’s influence.

This game finished 1-1 last season, with the reverse match ending 0-0. This may suggest a draw (at +235), but I think Tottenham will just nick it.

Spurs have only signed two players this summer, but they have massively strengthened areas that needed strengthening.

Also, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Dele Alli, and Harry Kane all have a point to prove after a disappointing European Championships with England, and if they are on the top of their game, I don’t see Everton being able to handle them.
