Matchday 25 Premier League goal scorers tips
Premier League players most likely to score
By Matt Pitt
Gabriel Jesus to Score for Manchester City vs. Bournemouth
When Manchester City purchased 19-year-old Brazilian Gabriel Jesus from Palmeiras for £27 million there were a few experts who raised their eyebrows, despite the youngster having scored 16 goals in 47 games in Brazil.
Jesus has already won over pundits around the world even though he has only made four appearances for City this season, thanks in part to him scoring three goals, including a brace against Swansea on February 5.
City take on Bournemouth away from home this weekend and Jesus must be relishing the opportunity to play against such a porous defense. Bournemouth have conceded 19 goals in their 12 home fixtures this season, while City have put 26 goals past their opponents on their travels.
Jesus is +300 to score first in this game and that looks like a good bet. As does the -125 available at Bovada for Jesus to bag himself a goal before the referee blows his final whistle.
Saido Berahino to Score for Stoke City vs. Crystal Palace
Saido Berahino finally got a move away from West Bromwich Albion after Stoke City paid £12 million for his services during the January transfer window. The 23-year-old has been limited to two substitute appearances for his new team so far, but manager Mark Hughes may be prepared to start the talented forward this weekend.
Berahino has the potential to be a real star if he can keep his off-field problems at bay. He only managed seven goals in 35 appearances last season and hasn’t found his name on the score sheet since he netted in a 3-2 win at, ironically, Crystal Palace almost a year to the day.
Palace are struggling for form this season, mostly due to their inability to defend; Palace have conceded 45 goals already in the Premier League this season. The pacey Berahino will cause Palace all kinds of problems even if he only appears from the bench, so look to back him at +200 to score during the 90 minutes.
Danny Welbeck to Score for Arsenal vs. Hull City
Danny Welbeck has only appeared five times for Arsenal during the current campaign after overcoming yet another long-term injury. Both Arsenal and the English national team hope the Manchester-born striker can keep fit for the remainder of the season, especially after he looked back to his best in the 5-0 away drubbing of Southampton in the FA Cup on January 28, where he scored twice.
Welbeck has scored 15 goals in 37 starts and 7 as a substitute, which isn’t the best record but he definitely has goals in him. Welbeck should lead the line for Arsenal when they entertain Hull City this weekend, a team that has leaked 47 goals in the league this season, making the +350 on Welbeck to score first and -110 to score anytime look like a real steal.
