2019 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Betting Odds and Predictions

2019 NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Betting Odds and Predictions

We have reached the final race of the 2019 NASCAR season: The Ford EcoBoost 400. So late into the year, only a few viable candidates remain. Which drivers is laying the best value ahead of this Sunday’s showdown? We’ll go through it all.

Here are the NASCAR odds for the four drivers vying for the 2019 Monster Energy Cup. To be more specific, they are Bovada’s NASCAR odds:

  • Kyle Busch (+225)
  • Denny Hamlin (+200)
  • Martin Truex Jr. (+275)
  • Kevin Harvick (+260)

These NASCAR Vegas odds will shift ahead of Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400. Be sure to double-check these lines, especially when using different sportsbooks. For example, the highly rated BetNow may be offering different odds by midweek.

Also, do not confuse these NASCAR Final 4 odds with lines on strictly who’s going to win the Ford EcoBoost 400. That’s a separate matter, which we will tackle below.

These current NASCAR odds look only at which driver is going to be crowned by this year’s champion. Our preview on this race to the finish will include:

  • NASCAR’s Playoff Picture
  • Review of NASCAR’s Monster Energy Cup odds
  • Analysis of top NASCAR drivers
  • Best value bets
  • NASCAR Monster Energy Cup picks

2019 NASCAR Final Betting Breakdown

Ford EcoBoost 400 Info

  • When: Sunday, November 17
  • Time: 3 p.m. ET
  • Where: Homestead-Miami Speedway

If you’re looking to bet on this race specifically, you’ll need to wait on the odds until later in the week. Most are only interested in the Monster Energy Cup winner—and for good reason.

Betting on the field doesn’t mean as much when there are four drivers competing for NASCAR’s highest yearly honor. It’s tough to gauge how aggressively others will be driving.

It’s also worth noting that this will be the last year in which the Ford EcoBoost 400 is the final race of the season. Beginning in 2020, it will move to mid-March, diminishing the stakes at play by considerable margins.

2019 Monster Energy Cup Bettings Odds

With the NASCAR playoffs all but figured out, here’s a breakdown of every driver still in the running to win the highly coveted, championship-equivalent 2019 Monster Energy Cup heading into Sunday’s Ford EcoBoost 400:

Kyle Busch (+225)

Kyle Busch is in the market for his second Monster Energy Cup title after taking home the honor in 2019.

News flash: He might get it.

Sportsbooks have billed him as the consensus favorite because, well, he’s Kyle Busch. None of his three immediate competitors share his household-name status. The action on him is bound to be heavy.

But his favorite status is not undeserved. He has more stage wins this season than anyone else in NASCAR (11). He has also led for more total laps than anyone else—and it isn’t even close.

Meanwhile, at the Bluegreen Vacations 500 last Sunday, he finished second when he didn’t have anything substantial for which to race. His value isn’t great as the favorite, but he’s a quality investment if only because it feels like his number is about to get called again.

Denny Hamlin (+200)

No one made out better at the Bluegreen Vacations 500 last weekend than Denny HamlinWith his playoff fate hanging in the balance, he didn’t just sneak into NASCAR’s Final Four. He won.

Granted, he had some help. Other contenders for one of the final spots didn’t have the best day—particularly Chase Elliott, whose hopes were dashed mid-race following a crash.

Still, Hamlin has won the EcoBoost 400 on two previous occasions. His three competitors have only racked up a victory each. That can be meaningless and very standings-dependent. We’re betting it’s not.

Kevin Harvick (+260)

Kevin Harvick didn’t have anything to race for last Sunday. He had already punched his ticket into one of the four final slots with a victory in the AAA Texas 500. But he secured a fifth-place finish anyway.

Not many view Harvick as a potential favorite in the hunt for the Monster Energy Cup. He has trailed his three peers in the opening lines for much of the season. But underestimating him is a mistake.

Harvick earned a Monster Energy Cup victory in 2014, and his driving style over the past year has almost perfectly blended speed and control. To wit: He’s gone more than 12 months without receiving a speeding penalty, yet he’s also secured more than six stage wins during that time.

Martin Truex Jr. (+275)

Because two Toyota drivers in a four-person championship heat isn’t enough, right?

Martin Truex Jr. should be the odds-on favorite to win the Monster Energy Cup in the eyes of many. It’s hard to blame anyone arguing in his favor. He held first place in the standings by himself entering last weekend and is third overall in stage victories on the season.

If there’s an issue to find with Truex’s chances, it’s that he hasn’t faced high-stakes races in quite some time. He’s been on pace to be one of the remaining four for a while.

His pressure-free circumstances have shown. He finished sixth at the Bluegreen Vacations 500, seldom busting out any truly aggressive maneuvers.

However, he’s still someone to take seriously. He’s arguably been the second-best racer all season.

2019 Monster Energy Cup Prediction

Our pick to win the 2019 Monster Energy Cup? That would be…Kyle Bush.

Apologies for anyone hoping we’d step outside the box here. Busch has been too dominant for us to go any other way.

Not only did he lead all racers for 125 laps more than his closest rival this season, but he probably could’ve extended that gap had he and the rest of the Toyota team not been so obviously willing to, if not focused on, getting Hamlin a Final Four bid.

OSB Prediction: Kyle Busch (+225)
