1971-72 Lakers

While superstar-studded teams seem to be the norm nowadays, this Lakers team may have been the first. Led by arguably the greatest NBA trio ever Jerry West, Wilt Chamberlain, and Elgin Baylor the Lakers won a then-NBA record 69 games (including 33 in a row) before topping the Knicks in the championship. Chamberlain averaged 19 points and 23 points and was named Finals MVP. The title was the franchise’s first since moving from Minneapolis.
