Week 11 NFL Top 5 Fantasy Football Players

Week 11 NFL Top 5 Fantasy Football Players
It’s crunch time in fantasy football leagues with playoffs approaching. Carson Wentz has dethroned Russell Wilson as the top fantasy football player, but can the Philadelphia Eagles QB remain No. 1? With a matchup against the lowly NY Giants, there’s a strong chance that can occur. Stay up to date on who’s hot — and who’s not — in our latest Top 5 Fantasy Football Player Rankings.

Odds courtesy of

Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles, QB)

There’s a new quarterback at the top of our list — Philadelphia Eagles pivot Carson Wentz. The sophomore quarterback was 15-for-27 with 4 four touchdown passes in a dominating victory over the Denver Broncos last week. Wentz’s 23 TD strikes leads the NFL heading into a Week 11 matchup against the Dallas Cowboys. Bovada has set the total point projection for Sunday night’s match at 48½, which means Wentz could be in for another big day for fantasy football GMs that own the young QB. The Eagles are 8-1 and are showing no signs of letting up with seven games left. Make sure you ride Wentz the rest of the way.

Antonio Brown (Pittsburgh Steelers, WR)

If there was any doubt about Antonio Brown remaining on our list of top fantasy football player rankings, the Pittsburgh Steelers star ended that on Thursday night. Brown had 144 receiving yards and reeled in 3 touchdowns in a 40-17 win over Tennessee. Brown ranks No. 1 among receivers in many major fantasy football leagues as the Steelers now prepare to take on the struggling Green Bay Packers in Week 12. Brown, who leads the NFL in receiving yards with 1,026, will only add to those numbers and will continue to move up the list as the top fantasy football player.

Todd Gurley (Los Angeles Rams, RB)

The Los Angeles Rams sit first in the NFC West Division with a 7-2 record and Todd Gurley is the main reason for that. Many will argue Le’Veon Bell is the No. 1 fantasy football running back, but Gurley has posted 100-plus yards rushing in four games this season. Gurley will be in tough in Week 12 against the Minnesota Vikings, who boast the second best rush defense in the NFL. Gurley has only faced the Vikings once in career, collecting 89 yards rushing and a TD. Bovada has the Rams as 2-point underdogs — a bet worth taking as Gurley could have another explosive day on the ground.

Le’Veon Bell (Pittsburgh Steelers, RB)

Fantasy football websites had Le’Veon Bell as the projected No. 1 running back heading into the NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers superstar has lived up to those expectations, leading the league in rushing yards (886) in Week 11. With fantasy football trade deadlines quickly approaching, now is the time to make a move for Bell if you’re in contention. The Steelers arguably have one of the easiest schedules the rest of the way, which means Bell’s value will skyrocket. Bell is a dual threat out of the backfield as the rusher has posted 40 or more receiving yards four times this season.

Travis Kelce (Kansas City Chiefs, TE)

There has been no clear-cut No. 1 player at the tight end position this season. Travis Kelce takes the top honor in Week 12 as the Kansas City Chiefs’ star is riding a three-game touchdown streak. With the Chiefs heading to MetLife Stadium to face the Giants as heavy -500 favorites, look for Kelce to add to that streak on Sunday afternoon. Kelce also leads all tight ends with 629 receiving yards and is second with five touchdown catches. Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots and Zach Ertz of the Philadelphia Eagles are knocking on the door to regain the top TE spot, but for now, it’s Kelce’s to lose.

Austin Ekeler (Los Angeles Chargers, RB)

In deep PPR leagues, there may not better pick up than Los Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler. The versatile rusher can also catch balls out of the backfield, as witnessed in L.A.’s 20-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, when Ekeler rushed for 42 yards but had 77 receiving yards with 2 TDs. The Chargers are hosting the reeling Buffalo Bills Sunday afternoon so there is no better time to take a chance on Ekeler while he’s still hot.
