Blue Bombers vs Alouettes: CFL 2013 Season Opens in Winnipeg

Montreal Alouettes: Top chalk in the CFL East Division

Returning virtually the same roster that produced a 11-7 record, and first overall in the CFL East Division last year, the Montreal Alouettes open their 2013 CFL schedule on the road for a second straight season. They’ll be hoping for a better result than the 38-10 drubbing they endured in Calgary to open the 2012 CFL season. Dating back to 2006, Montreal is 4-3 on opening day but just 1-2 on the road. Montreal is tied with Toronto as the top chalk, with a +450 futures betting line, to win the 2013 Grey Cup Championship out of the East.

Winnipeg Blue Bombers: Horrible preseason could be a sign of things to come

We love the fact that the CFL preseason is a short one at just two games total. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers may not feel the same though as their preseason was a disaster and they could use more time to get things right. The Blue Bombers played the Argonauts in Toronto and then hosted the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at home and were outscored by a 76-6 combined count. This is not a good football club and it will be a long season in Manitoba. The Blue Bombers are posted as huge underdogs (+1000 ML) to capture the 101st Grey Cup.

Alouettes vs Blue Bombers CFL Wagering Lines & Online Sports Betting Prediction

Montreal has been posted as road favorites at -3.5 (-110) ATS and -170 on the money line. Winnipeg is listed as home pups at -3.5 (-110) ATS and +150 straight up while the Over/Under is set at 49.5 (-110) total points. Always a little leery of betting lines that appear to be gifts from the bookmakers, we had a tough time figuring out what the line makers at topbet.eu are up to tonight. In the end, we can’t get past the fact that Winnipeg scored just six points (they were shutout once) and gained 307 total yards in the two preseason games.

Online Sports Betting Prediction: Align with the Alouettes  -3.5 (-110) at the TopBet sportsbook!
