New York Knicks: Desperately need another win
Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks recorded their fourth win of the season on Thursday night when they defeated the Brooklyn Nets by a score of 113-83. They thoroughly beat the Nets, who are just 5-14 on the season, but still need to come together as a team if they want to put together a string of wins. When the Magic come to town tonight, the Knicks will need to be clutch from beyond the arc for a second straight night if they hope to snap their seven-game home losing streak.
Orlando Magic: Floating near playoff spot
Orlando enters this contest with an overall record of 6-12 and are just 1.5 games out of the eighth and final spot in the Eastern Conference standings. We know that it is still early in the season, but if the Magic want to even think about the playoffs this year they will need to break out of their current funk. They have dropped three straight games and are just 3-7 in their past 10 games played. New York will pose a tough test on Friday night from three-point range.
