Hockey Night in Canada Wagering Lines: Canucks vs Flames

Vancouver Canucks: Riding a four game winning streak

Despite lingering issues with their goaltending situation, the Vancouver Canucks are starting to roll as they have now won four straight games. Backed by strong performances from both Roberto Luongo and Cory Schneider, the Canucks have allowed just four goals during their resurgence and Schneider will get the start between the pipes tonight. Vancouver has won seven of the last ten meetings between these clubs and this is their first go-round this season. The Canucks were 4-1 winners on the road versus Minnesota on Thursday.

Calgary Flames: Inexperienced backup goaltender leads the way in net

Things seemed like they were going to go from bad to worse for Calgary when their starting netminder Miikka Kiprusoff couldn’t answer the bell for the third period in Detroit on Tuesday. Calgary was already marred in last place in the league and they didn’t have very much experience on the bench. Surprise, surprise though as backup goalie Leland Irving shut down the Red Wings in the third period and then registered a 4-3 OT win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday night. Irving is in for a much stiffer test in Vancouver tonight.
