Mariners Go for Sweep of Blue Jays at Safeco Wednesday Night

Mariners look to take sole possession of second AL Wild Card

Seattle can move into first place in the AL Wild Card with a win and a loss by the Tigers on Wednesday. A win would give the Mariners an 8-1 homestand. Iwakuma has been on fire since July 1, going 5-2 with an ERA of 2.04 in eight starts. He has a miniscule 1.66 ERA in his last three starts. He will be happy to see the Blue Jays since he is 2-1 with a 1.61 ERA in three starts in his career against them.

Blue Jays falling in standings as season moves closer to September

As we get closer to the stretch run, the Blue Jays are putting themselves in a very difficult position. They have fallen to 6.5 games out of first in the AL East behind the Orioles. They are now two games out of the second AL Wild Card spot and would have to leapfrog two teams to secure a playoff spot for the Wild Card game. They also have the Yankees and Indians breathing down their necks behind them in the standings.

We will place our bet on Wednesday night at Sportsbook.ag, where the Mariners are favored to win this game at home. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on the Mariners and the -165 money line as they sweep the Blue Jays and move closer to a Wild Card spot in the American League.
