National Hockey League: Regular Season Schedule Winds Down

Minnesota Wild: Attempting to halt season ending slide

After rolling through their March schedule with wins in eleven of fifteen games, Minnesota appeared to be a lock to make the NHL postseason party. Fast forward to the end of April and the Wild find themselves fighting for their playoff lives as they have lost eight of their twelve games this month. In their final home game of the NHL regular season, Minnesota can finally lock down a playoff spot if they defeat the Edmonton Oilers.

Edmonton Oilers: Young guns looking towards the 2013-14 NHL season

A season that opened with lots of promise has ended with the Edmonton Oilers out of playoff contention for the seventh consecutive year. A lack of scoring and quality goaltending are both reasons why the Oilers are about to hit the golf course as their -19 goal differential is the 25th worst in the entire National Hockey League. Edmonton has lost nine of their last ten games and we don’t see them having much fight on the road tonight.

Oilers vs. Wild Game Day Wagering Liness and Online Sports Betting Prediction

Surfing over the sports wagering website we find Minnesota as thick home chalk at -1.5 (+130) on the puck line and -230 straight up. The Oilers are road dogs at +1.5 (-150) against the spread and +190 on the money line while the Over/Under is posted at 5 goals (O -120 U EVEN).  We see this contest as one of those rare “bet the farm” type games so we’ll be loading up with the Wild and the -230 ML price at TopBet. As a Bonus Bet, if own two farms, take Chicago over Calgary with the -250 money line odds at TopBet!
