Washington vs Miami: Nationals roll out another Ace
Looking to build on their 2-0 Opening Day win over Miami, Washington sends LHP Gio Gonzalez to the hill today. Despite facing a PHD controversy, Gonzalez had a solid spring training camp as he looks to follow up on his sparkling 2012 season. Gio was lights out last year posting a 21-8 record, a career best 2.89 ERA, and he finished third in NL Cy Young voting. RHP Kevin Slowey, making his first start since 26/09/11, gets the call for Miami. Slowly making his way back to majors, Slowey was in the minors or on the disabled list during the 2012 MLB season. Washington is in for a special season and we’ll back them with the -1.5 (-120) run line at BetOnline tonight. Game time, from Nationals Park in Washington, DC, is slated for 7:05 PM ET.
Anaheim vs Dallas: Ducks face Stars who have traded away their stars
With the 2013 NHL trade deadline looming large, the Dallas Stars have been sellers recently. First they sent their Captain Brenden Morrow to Pittsburgh and then they shipped leading scorer Jaromir Jagr to Boston and veteran forward Derek Roy to Vancouver. Dallas sits three points out of a playoff position but would have to leapfrog five teams to get into the postseason. Anaheim, despite losing five of their last six games, still owns a healthy ten-point lead over the Los Angeles Kings in the Pacific Division. The Ducks are also just four points behind Chicago for first overall in the NHL. Anaheim beat the Stars 4-0 in Dallas on Monday and we expect a similar result at the Duck Pond tonight. We’ll dive in with Ducks at -1.5 (+165) at the BetOnline sportsbook.
