NBA Eastern Conference All-Stars: Florida Represents
Inter-state rivals, F LeBron James and G Dwayne Wade of the Miami Heat, along with C Dwight Howard of the host city Orlando Magic are three of the starting five players for the Eastern Conference. Hated foes during the NBA season, the Heat and Magic sit one – two in the NBA Southeast Division standings.
There isn’t any love lost between reigning NBA MVP G Derrick Rose from the Chicago Bulls and the “Kings Crew” as well. Rose is making his third NBA All-Star appearance and will be joined by F Carmelo Anthony from the New York Knicks, if he is healthy enough to play, to round out the starting five for the East.
NBA Western Conference All-Stars: California Starters Dominate
Four of the starting five players for the NBA Western Conference All-Star team play out of the NBA Pacific Division and the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. G Kobe Bryant, with his 14th All-Star selection, and C Andrew Bynum – who is making his first All-Star appearance, represent the Los Angeles Lakers.
G Chris Paul, along with backboard crusher F Blake Griffin, will be sporting the Los Angeles Clippers colors. The Lakers are a game back of the Clippers as they battle for the top spot in the Pacific Division. Kevin Durant, from the NBA league leading Oklahoma City Thunder, rounds out the five starters for the West.
