NBA Western Conference Playoff Race
Currently separated by just a half game, the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder are in a heated battle for the top spot in the Western Conference. The Spurs have five games remaining with just the Los Angeles Lakers as a serious roadblock. The Thunder have four games left on their regular season schedule, with two against the lowly Sacramento Kings, and one each against the Lakers and Denver Nuggets.
Final Playoff Spots On The Line For Five Teams
Apart from the race for the top spot in the West, five teams will battle during the final week of the regular season to decide the sixth through eighth playoff positions. This is an amazing race as 2.5 games is all that separates sixth overall from tenth overall. The defending NBA Champion Dallas Mavericks currently hold the six spot with a half game lead over Denver. After that, the Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, and Houston Rockets are separated by just a single game as those three teams battle for a playoff ticket.
