NBA Eastern Conference – The Heat Is On The Bulls
Halfway through the 2011-12 season the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat are the class of NBA Eastern Conference. Sitting one-two respectively, the Bulls have a narrow 2.5 game lead on the Heat who in turn have a 4.5 game lead on the up and down Orlando Magic.
A couple of relatively surprise teams, the Philadelphia 76ers and Indiana Pacers, own the four and five spots, while the Hawks, Celtics, and Knicks round out the current top playoff teams in the NBA Eastern Conference.
NBA Western Conference: Rolling Thunder
Over in the NBA Western Conference, no one has been able to quiet the Oklahoma City Thunder as they have rolled out to a 4.5 game lead over the suddenly hot San Antonio Spurs. California is calling as the Lakers and Clippers are separated by a half game in third and fourth overall in the West.
In what will certainly be a fantastic finish, the fifth through eighth place teams are separated by just a game and a half. Memphis, Dallas, and Denver all have 22 wins, while Houston has 21 victories. the Grizzlies lead this bunch with two less losses than the Mavericks, Nuggets, and Rockets. The playoff races in the West should go down to final week of the season.
