New England Hopes to Send Kansas City to 1-3 Start Monday Night

Patriots need stronger offensive performance to contend

New England has been one of the most powerful offensive units in the league for quite some time, but this year looks to be much different. The unit is ranked 27th in the league with just 301.1 yards per game. The Patriots have been saved this season by a much-improved defensive unit. The defense has already recorded six interceptions, which is tied for tops in the league, and has allowed just 272.7 yards per game.

Chiefs in danger of 1-3 start after successful 2013 season

After starting the 2013 season 9-0, the Chiefs are in danger of beginning 2014 with a 1-3 mark. Should they lose this game, they will have played to a record of 3-8 since the end of their nine-game winning streak last year, not including their ugly playoff collapse to the Colts. Kansas City will need to find a way to better protect Alex Smith, who was sacked five times against Miami last week, which has moved his total to being sacked 11 times this season.

On Monday night, New England will look to win its third straight game while sending Kansas City to a third loss. We will place our wager at SportsBetting.ag, where New England is favored by just 2.5 points on the road. We will drop 10 percent of our bankroll on the Patriots and the -140 money line as they improve to 3-1 early in the 2014 season.
