NHL First Round Game Four: St. Louis vs Chicago Wednesday Night

Blues trying to avoid a repeat of history

After going up 2-0 on the Kings in last year’s playoffs, the Blues lost four straight to drop the series. This year they built a 2-0 lead on the Blackhawks, only to lose game three by a score of 2-0. Right now, it seems as though no one on the Blues is thinking about history repeating itself. At least, not yet. If they drop this game, it surely has to enter their minds.

Blackhawks a formidable opponent right now

Chicago, despite being down 2-0 after the first two games of the series, have pulled to within a game of tying things up in the West. No matter what seed they play as, the Blackhawks are always a dangerous team. This is the second straight year that the Blues are playing the defending Stanley Cup champions in the playoffs and head coach Ken Hitchcock knows that it will take a lot to win this series.

Even though they trail in the series 2-1, the Blackhawks are favored by the oddsmakers at to win this game against the Blues. The reason for this is that they won game three and are at home tonight. Despite all of this, we still like the Blues to win this game. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on St. Louis and the OVER five total goals scored Wednesday night at +109 as they take a 3-1 lead in the series.
