NHL Mid Season Stanley Cup Betting Futures Odds Update

Top chalk still rolling towards hoisting the Stanley Cup

Looking back at the preseason futures odds to win the Stanley Cup as posted at back in January, we find that just three of the top favorites are proving to be Cup contending worthy. The Pittsburgh Penguins were posted as second chalk (17/2) in the preseason and they currently sit second overall in the league with 32 points. The Pens price has changed changed slightly as Pittsburgh now carries a 7/1 line.

Chicago (10/1 preseason odds) has pushed the NY Rangers out of the top favorite spot as their white hot start has pushed their Cup winning odds down to a 9/2 price. Boston was 10/1 at the start of the season as well but backing the Bruins to hoist Stanley is paying just 15/2 odds today. Don’t fade the Cup Champion Kings!

Early season NHL Champion favorites are falling back in the Cup chase

Despite the fact that New York is currently in a playoff position, the Rangers certainly aren’t living up to their 8/1 futures betting odds as the favorite to capture Stanley this season. The bookmakers at Bovada are clearly not impressed as the NYR futures price has plummeted to 18/1odds. This could be a good time to jump on the Rangers (if you have some expendable cash) as they do have the horses to bring the Cup back to Broadway.

St. Louis was 10/1 along with the Bruins and Hawks back in January but the Blues number has jumped 16/1. That’s partly because they play in the Central Division with Chicago. Anaheim has produced one of the bigger line movements as the Ducks number has gone from 40/1 all the way down to 12/1 with half the season to go. NHL Stanley Cup futures odds are available 24/7 and 365 days a year at the Bovada online sportsbook!
