Orioles vs Tigers American League Baseball Handicapping Tips

Detroit Tigers: Chasing Chicago for AL Central Title

Despite posting a 25-15 record dating back to June 1, Detroit has not been able to catch the pesky Chicago White Sox in the AL Central. Heading into action tonight, the Tigers are two games back of the White Sox and 0.5 games back in the Wild Card race. One of our favorite “hay makers” RHP Justin Verlander gets the call for the Cats tonight. The Vaporizer pitched eight shutout innings against the O’s on June 15 in Baltimore.

Baltimore Orioles: Revival season continues in the Old Line State

While they won’t catch the New York Yankees in the AL East, the Orioles are currently sitting with a share of the American League Wild Card lead. Baltimore has not had a winning season since 1997 and they have not won more than 69 games in six straight seasons. RHP Tommy Hunter (4-7 ERA 5.54) heads to the hill for the Orioles having allowed 30 runs in his last 47 innings pitched. Hunter is way over matched here.
