Penguins vs. Hurricanes NHL Eastern Conference Betting Odds

Penguins looking to clinch Atlantic Division title

Despite losing three of their last four games, Pittsburgh has secured one of the first two NHL playoff berths along with the Anaheim Ducks. With a win tonight the Penguins would also lock up their first Atlantic Division title since 2008. A victory over the hapless Hurricanes would move Pittsburgh five points up on Montreal for the overall lead in the Eastern Conference though the Canadiens will have two games in hand.

Hurricanes downgraded to something less than a tropical depression

Back on March 12, 2013, Carolina were the leaders in the relatively weak NHL Southeast Division. Now, less than a month later, the Hurricanes sit eight points out and will miss the NHL playoff party. The collapse in Carolina has been swift and painful to watch as the ‘Canes have won just once in their past thirteen games. Playing back-to-back contests doesn’t help their cause as the Hurricanes were buried 6-2 in Boston last night.
