Detroit Red Wings: Move to East not so bad
With the realignment in the NHL this year, the Detroit Red Wings were moved to the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference. The move has not hindered them much at all, as they have played to an overall record of 14-7-7 and 35 points. They sit in third in the division and are just three points from the top spot. Against their conference opponents, the Red Wings have already won 10 games. They have enjoyed their new digs up to this point in their season.
Philadelphia Flyers: Still trying to find their way
After a horrendous start to the season, the Flyers finally reached the .500 mark last week, only to drop one game below the mark almost immediately. Now, they are in danger of dropping to two games under .500 with a loss to the Red Wings. They enter this game with an overall record of 12-13-2, which is good for 26 points. Look for Steve Mason to start in net tonight for the Flyers, who is 6-1-1 in his last eight games with a 1.72 goals against average.
As the puck drops in Detroit on Wednesday night between the Red Wings and the Philadelphia Flyers, we find the betting odds at Sportsbook.com. Even though they are markedly better than the Flyers this season, the Red Wings are favored by just 1.5 goals tonight. That is why we will bet on Detroit with the -135 money line to secure the win over the Flyers from the City of Brotherly Love.
