Rangers and Kings Open Stanley Cup Finals Wednesday Night

Kings prepared to open series with game-one win

Los Angeles dropped the first game of the Western Conference Finals to the Blackhawks, but then went on a three-game winning streak. They would wind-up playing all seven games of the series, needing overtime in the final game to take home the conference crown. Los Angeles would like to win game one of this series in order to grab the momentum away from the Rangers.

Rangers know they are the underdogs

With all of the talk since the Kings won the West, the Rangers are clear underdogs in the Stanley Cup Finals. They know this and actually welcome it. New York overcame the Philadelphia Flyers, the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Montreal Canadiens to advance to the Stanley Cup Finals. They definitely shocked the league by beating all three of those teams, especially the Penguins and Canadiens. New York wants to do it one more time this season and bring home Lord Stanley’s Cup.
