San Diego Chargers vs Oakland Raiders NFL Week 5 Best Bet
San Diego: Raging Rivers gets Bolts off to a decent start
Written off by many pundits at the start of the 2013 season, the San Diego Chargers and QB Philip Rivers are one of the more entertaining teams early on. The Bolts have posted a 2-2 record with wins over the Cowboys and Eagles and loses to the Texans and Titans – averaging 27 points per game. Rivers currently sits second only to Peyton Manning in completion percentage (73.9) QB rating (118.8) and touchdowns (11). Against an average Raiders pass defense we see no reason why Rivers & Co. should not have continued success.
Oakland Raiders: Little has changed in the Black Hole at the O.Co Coliseum
News Flash: the Raiders are still the Raiders! Even though they have passed the “worst team in the league” torch to the Jacksonville Jaguars, Oakland fans are seeing more of the same out of their team that will not make the NFL playoffs for an eleventh straight season. A lack of talent and some key injuries have resulted in the Raiders posting a 1-3 record out of the gate. In loses to the Colts, Broncos and Redskins, Oakland was outscored by an 82-52 final count. Their lone win was a 19-9 home victory over the aforementioned Jaguars.
Raiders vs. Chargers Wagering Lines & Online Sports Betting Game Day Forecast
We turn to the bookmakers at the Bovada online sportsbook for the betting odds on tonight’s San Diego vs. Oakland contest. The Chargers are posted as road favorites at -5 (-110) against the spread and -225 on the money line. The Raiders are home dogs at +5 (-110) ATS and +185 straight up and the Over/Under has been posted at 43.5 (-110) total points. The OVER is tempting, but we doubt the Raiders will score enough points to push the total past the number. As such, we are lay the -5 (-110) line and back the Bolts at Bovada.
