San Jose Aiming for 10 Straight Wins over Philadelphia
Can San Jose gets back into an offensive groove?
The Sharks snapped a three-game losing streak with a 2-1 shootout win against the Chicago Blackhawks on Saturday. During their three-game skid, the Sharks scored just one goal. So, their two-goal ‘outburst’ on Saturday was a pleasant surprise for the club. They have dominated the Flyers of late, winning nine straight games after securing a 1-0 victory back in February of 2012. Overall, the Sharks are 11-0-0 with two ties against Philly since dropping their last game to them in December of 2000.
Tough West Coast road trip for Philadelphia gets tougher
The Flyers are out on a very tough West Coast trip right now and it could get tougher when they take on San Jose tonight. They shutout the Los Angeles Kings 2-0 on Saturday, which followed a 5-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks. If they can defeat the Sharks, they will return home with a 2-1 mark on the brief trip. They will need goalie Steve Mason to stay hot. He has posted two shutouts in his last three games played for Philadelphia.
Since Philadelphia hit a rough patch last week and the Sharks just recently snapped a three-game skid, this game could be low scoring out in San Jose. Good thing it is a late-night game for the East Coast Philly fans because we see San Jose grabbing the win. We will back the Sharks and their weak offense with the UNDER 5.5 goals at -140 over at TopBet on Monday night.
