Stanley Cup Semifinal: Kings vs Sharks I-5 Series Game Seven

LA Kings: Stanley Cup Champs set to harpoon the Sharks

In what has been the most compelling of the four NHL semifinal playoff series, the Los Angeles Kings look to advance to the Western Conference Final for a second straight season if they can harpoon the pesky Sharks on their home pond. The Champs are a little unlucky to be in this position as they pounded countless pucks off the post during a 2-1 Game Six loss in San Jose on Sunday night. The Kings have won 13 straight games at the Staples Center and Los Angeles netminder Jonathan Quick will be a difference maker in this battle.

San Jose Sharks: Attempting to solve recent losing skid at the Staples Center

Heading south, down the I-5 and into Los Angeles, has not been an enjoyable trip for the Boys from San Jose recently. The Sharks are 1-7 in their last eight visits to SoCal (outscored by a 29-15 count) and they haven’t won at the Staples Center since April 5, 2012. The Kings have owned the Sharks at home during this series as the Champs have outscored San Jose by a 9-3 combined count and Quick has shut them out twice. While we don’t see a blowout happening here, the Sharks season is about to come crashing down in SoCal tonight.

Our betting lines for this semifinal deciding Game Seven are courtesy of the topbet.eu online sportsbook. The bookmakers at TopBet have posted the Kings as home chalk at -1.5 (+200) ATS and -150 on the money line. The Sharks are road underdogs at +1.5 (-240) on the puck line and +130 straight up, while the Over/Under is listed at five goals. Not willing to give or take the puck line, we’ll back the Champs with the -150 ML at TopBet as the Kings advance to the Western Conference Final with a home pond win in sunny Southern California.
