Tigers and Blue Jays Meet in Toronto as Both Offenses Slumping
Tigers struggled at plate to open road trip
Detroit opened a nine-game road trip by losing three of four games to the Yankees in New York. The Tigers hit just .173, struck out 35 times and scored just six runs in those four games. Slugging first baseman Miguel Cabrera went just 1-for-10 in the series after grounding into a double play in his only at-bat in the fourth game of the series. He was scheduled to have the entire day off.
Blue Jays offensively challenged right now
Toronto is not faring much better at the plate right now. They have lost five of six games this month, scoring just eight runs in their five losses. In the August losses, Jose Bautista is hitting just .222 despite homering in a win over the Orioles on Wednesday. Toronto dropped Thursday’s game to the Orioles by a score of 2-1. He has just one hit in his career against the Tigers starter, Anibal Sanchez.
Friday night features two of the best teams in the league when it comes to offense, but they are struggling mightily right now. We will place our bet at Bovada.lv, where the Tigers are road chalk to win this game. We will drop 15 percent of our bankroll on Detroit and the -128 money line as the Tigers take the first game of this three-game series in Canada. Hopefully, both offenses will explode in this series so we can see some impressive fireworks.
